EN CAMINO

Intervention programme providing IT training and educational support for children in care. Tapachula, Chiapas

EN CAMINO aims to provide children aged 8 to 17, who live at the Esperanza Children’s Home in the city of Tapachula, with IT training and to help them improve their reading, writing and speaking skills. The programme places particular emphasis on providing significant support with reading comprehension – which is key to their academic development – as well as comprehensive academic support to enable pupils to complete compulsory secondary education and progress to sixth form.

The Azvi Group Foundation is running this initiative in partnership with COINTER Mexico to safeguard these children’s right to education. A team of teachers delivers after-school lessons five days a week, providing the support and motivation needed for the children to complete their studies and go on to vocational training.

As well as providing education on values and the prevention of risky behaviour, the project enriches the pupils’ experience by offering them the opportunity to go on cultural and leisure trips, thereby promoting their integration and well-being.
