Wellcome to
the Grupo Azvi
Foundation
The Grupo Azvi Foundation was established in 2011 with the aim of implementing Grupo Azvi’s Corporate Social Responsibility policy through the design of its own social intervention projects and collaboration with other non-profit organisations.
Our founding mission is to contribute to the holistic development of society, based on respect for the environment and human dignity, by designing and implementing initiatives that tackle the root causes of social exclusion, with a particular focus on preventive work with children, young people and mothers.
The Grupo Azvi Foundation is committed to educational programmes that contribute to the social development of the communities in which they are implemented, promoting the acquisition of knowledge that enables children and young people to improve their prospects for future integration into the labour market.
For the Azvi Group Foundation, training and education in values represent the best possible outcome a community can aspire to in terms of development; consequently, it directs its initiatives towards this end, steering clear of any other approach that does not enhance individual capabilities and foster a culture of hard work.

Letter from the Chairman
Dear friends
Every boy and girl deserves a fair start in life. At the Grupo Azvi Foundation, we work with the firm conviction that a child’s background should not determine their future. Our mission is clear: to defend and promote children’s rights, ensuring that equal opportunities and a dignified upbringing are a reality, not just a dream.
This commitment to service is no accident; it stems directly from our history and my deepest roots. The railway has been the cornerstone upon which Azvi was founded and built. The railway not only represents the origin of my professional career and my family’s legacy, but is also the very foundation upon which we have built this Foundation. I have always seen in the world of railways a beautiful analogy with the life of a child: for a train to move forward steadily and reach its destination safely, it needs solid tracks, well-levelled ground and a route clear of obstacles. In the same way, vulnerable children need a stable foundation, a protective environment and a path free from structural barriers in order to move forward with dignity and realise their full potential.
Throughout our history, guided by the humanistic principles of the venerable Fernando de Contreras, we have learnt that a people-centred approach is the only way to transform lives. That is why, in 2025, we have strengthened our commitment through strategic partnerships with 30 third-sector organisations. We believe in the value of local engagement; we work with organisations that know the local area so that our support is, above all, effective and accessible.
But the Foundation is, above all, its people. None of this would be possible without the team at Grupo Azvi and its companies. It is our employees who understand that social responsibility stems from individual action and a shared commitment. Let us continue to build solid foundations and create bridges so that every child can grow up healthy, educated and, above all, happy.
Warm regards,
D. Manuel Contreras Ramos
Chairman of the Azvi Group Foundation / Honorary Chairman of the Azvi Group
