DARSE CUENTA
Psychodrama programme for equality and social reintegration
The ‘Darse Cuenta’ programme, developed by the Grupo Azvi Foundation in collaboration with the Intégrate association, is a pioneering initiative in Andalusia that uses psychodrama as a cutting-edge therapeutic tool for social transformation. This internationally recognised methodology enables participants to rediscover what they have learnt and to modify their behaviour, even in highly demanding environments.
It is now established as the only programme of its kind running at Seville I Prison. ‘Darse Cuenta’ works directly to improve community life and to support prisoners in developing a solid life plan with a view to their future release. His speech focuses on three key pillars: education in values and parental responsibility, with a focus on the role of the father as a driving force for change; the prevention of gender-based violence; and behavioural re-education for the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
The programme’s track record attests to its impact; it has been recognised with the AFA Award for the best social initiative and has established itself as a benchmark in specialised prison intervention.
